Overview:
dvaDataStorage is a Value Reseller located in Bellevue, WA. We are planning to staff an anticipated large contract with storage engineers/architects, network administrators, instructors and course developers. The ideal candidates we are looking for are people who are versed in all or some of the requirements listed below with HP storage experience. Candidates must we willing to travel in U.S. and Canada and must hold current passport. All contract positions are full-time and require flexible shift work.
Responsibilities:
All candidates must be self sufficient and able to be flexible in their work schedule as this contract may require change of direction as needed. Candidates should be knowledgeable or have worked with the following:

Senior Oracle DBA

Overview
Our downtown Seattle area client is looking for a skilled senior database administrator with a minimum of four to six years Oracle experience. Must be able to work well under pressure and multi-tasking considered a strength. This position is full-time and requires flexible shift work.
Responsibilities:
-
Provide project management for all major DBMS activities (i.e. data center moves).
-
Provide design of high availability database systems.
-
Provide design and development assistance to engineering teams for new products.
-
Proactively recommend process and development methodology improvements, ensuring proper technical design and documentation.
-
Create and/or customize complex database monitoring application systems.
-
Provide encapsulation of all deployment components of databases (binaries, baselines, scripts, documentation).
-
Regular management updates of technical issues and their impact to the Company.
-
Critical decision-making and resolution in emergent situations.
-
24x7 database administration for all production Oracle databases and supporting software.
-
Disk space, performance and availability monitoring for all production databases.
-
Preventative maintenance on all databases.
-
DBMS Performance tuning.
-
Mentor other DBA's
Requirements:
-
Expert knowledge of data retention and recovery practices for
Oracle databases.
-
In-depth knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of High
Availability methods.

Strong commitment to 24X7 environment monitoring, metrics
generation and logging, on-call rotation schedule.
-
Experience as a DBA in a 24X7 production environment multiple
recent years.
-
Proficient at capacity monitoring and management capabilities.
-
Experience in disaster recovery.
-
Experience with terabyte databases.
-
Experience with mass storage systems.
-
Extensive experience with high-volume OLTP database systems.

Extensive UNIX shell scripting, PLSQL, and SQL skills.

Highly motivated to solve problems quickly and completely.

Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze problems
quickly, completely, and independently by type and severity, and
understand complex relationships between various infrastructure

POSITION PURPOSE
